Wiped Film Diagram
- Reservoir: This is where the initial liquid feed is stored before entering the evaporator.
- Feed Pump: This pump moves the liquid feed from the reservoir into the evaporator.
- Check Valve: Prevents backflow of the liquid, ensuring it moves in the correct direction through the system.
- Motor: Drives the wiper mechanism inside the evaporator, which is crucial for maintaining a thin liquid film on the heated surface.
- Wiper: The wiper mechanism spreads the liquid into a thin film over the heated surface, enhancing evaporation by increasing the surface area and reducing the thickness of the liquid layer.
- Heater: Provides the necessary heat to evaporate the liquid’s volatile components as they form a thin film on the surface.
- Condenser: A cooling unit that condenses the vaporized components back into liquid form.
- Vacuum Condenser: Works under vacuum conditions, which lowers the boiling point of the liquid, enabling evaporation at lower temperatures.
- Cold Finger: A cooling element used to condense and collect the distillate.
- Vacuum: Applying a vacuum reduces the substances’ boiling point, making it easier to separate volatile compounds at lower temperatures.
- Window: Provides a view into the evaporator to monitor the process.
- Distillate Pump: Collects the condensed distillate (purified or separated components) after evaporation.
- Residue Pump: Removes the heavier, non-evaporated substances (residues) that remain after the more volatile components have evaporated.

carbonX
carbonX carbonX is a mechanically stable color remediation media that can be coupled with the DrainDroyd to remove plant chlorophylls and other plant materials causing dark, undesirable color in your extracts. carbonX is radically different from activated carbon because it does not break up or discolor your hands with handling, and combustion byproducts will not […]

It can be used as the base for extraction through isolate or extraction through complex compound separation. The E2Di features sustainable and low-cost CO2 extraction, the system connects and […]
Falling Film Diagram
- Feed Inlet: This is where the liquid feed enters the evaporator. The liquid usually contains a mixture of solvent and solute.
- Distribution Plate: The feed is evenly distributed over the internal surface of the evaporator’s heating tubes using a distribution plate. This ensures the formation of a thin, even film of liquid that flows downward.
- Heat Exchange Tubes: These vertical tubes are the primary site for evaporation. Heat is applied to the outer surface of the tubes, causing the solvent in the thin film of liquid to evaporate as it flows downward.
- Heating Medium Inlet: This is where the heating fluid (often steam) enters to provide the necessary thermal energy for evaporation.
- Heating Medium Outlet: The heating medium exits the evaporator after transferring heat to the liquid film.
- Vapor Separator: The vaporized solvent separates from the concentrated liquid (residue). The vapor is directed upwards, while the remaining concentrated solution flows downward.
- Vapor Outlet: The separated vapor is collected and removed from the system. Depending on the process requirements, it can then be condensed.
- Concentrated Liquid Outlet: The concentrated liquid (or residue) is collected at the bottom of the evaporator and removed from the system for further processing or disposal.
- Liquid/Vapor Separation Area: This region efficiently separates the vapor and the liquid, ensuring that only the vapor exits through the vapor outlet.
